Read: Who is Chris Carter?

March 9, 2010

Yesterday, in a win against the Marlins, Mets 1B Chris Carter hit a pinch-hit home run in the ninth inning, then hit another home run later in the inning.

The Mets acquired Carter in the trade with the Red Sox for Billy Wagner last summer.

In a post to the Daily Stache, Aaron Yorke wonders about Carter’s fate with the Mets, ‘since he doesn’t really have a position.’

he is an odd case… he reminds me so much of Daniel Murphy… i see him competing right now with Frank Catalanotto and Mike Jacobs for the final spot on the bench… if the Mets want versatility, it’s cat’s job to lose… if its power from the left side they seek, jacobs and carter will lead the race… the thing is, carter can go to Triple-A, where most people believe jacobs will seek a major-league job if it isn’t with the Mets…
